It’s been ages since i did one of these. This directly contradicts Headcanon 7 due to being written AFTER the series premiered.
1. Before she got married Mrs Beakley’s name was Duckworth. (This has actually been floating around for quite a while, but it’s important to the headcanon)
Mrs Beakley, despite being a grandmother, is actually quite young. She’s 57 (Webby’s 11) to be exact. She had her own daughter at 21, who was called Jane Beakley (the dad’s idea). And Jane then had Webby at 25.2. Being an agent of SHUSH runs in the family, this means that it has become normal over the years for the mother (or in Beakley’s case, the Guardian) to train their children for when they get accepted into SHUSH, which is at 18, provided their grades are C or above.
3. This means that when Beakley was younger she was a quieter, less energetic version of Webby, but with twice as much knowledge (due to different ideas at the time) and slightly more social skills.
4. SHUSH is a fairly big world-wide Agency with about 5,000 spies world wide. Out of these spies Beakley is NOT number one, but is somewhere in the top 100. Which is no easy feat.
5. She trains religiously. She gets up at 5 to get dressed and enjoy a nice cup of tea and peace and quiet. Then at 6 she hits the gym for an hour, followed up immediatly by the pool. She then showers, gets dressed again and goes to the kitchen at about 8:15 in order to make sure Webby (and now the boys) are up and ready for school. She does this every morning and has no intention of stopping.
6. Despite obviously knowing what age she is, Beakley has no intention of letting others know the same thing. The fact that her hair has turned light grey over the years due to a mix of stress and a couple of missions gone wrong helps the illusion that she is older. She likes others to think that she’s at least 65, or older. This is for security reasons and she is so fiercly protective of this that not even Webby knows her true age. (It’s Granny’s birthday! Cool, how old is she, Webby? Er…not sure? Like, old I know that. Maybe 70? Yeah, 70 sounds right.)
7. Beakley doesn’t know where her daughter, or her daughters husband for that matter, is. All she knows they had a top secret mission and didn’t come back. At this point Webby was a couple of months and when Beakley realised she told Scrooge who paid for her (yes really!) To come and get Webby and then raise her in the manor. This was in accordance with Jane’s wishes and Beakley has no intention of letting her daughter down now.
8. Her daughter MIA has affected her in a couple of ways, one, she obviously has Webby in her life, who she loves very dearly. Two – she can understand Scrooge and his issues regarding Della. Three – she has bouts of depression. It used to be worse, but has got better over the years. It usually flairs up around Christmas, birthdays and the date she got the MIA letter.
9. She has learned from a very young age not to show a lot of emotion. This is partly because of her parents raising her with SHUSH in mind, and partly because of social expectations of girls in the England at the time. Now she’s basically raising her own child she can look back at her own youth and pick out the best and worse parts of it. Which is why she trains Webby like she does, but also while allowing and encouraging her to express her emotions. So far it seems to be working.
10. Beakley was assigned to Scrooge when he became the richest duck in the world. This would be when she was 39. He knew she was his bodyguard essentually and resented the fact. (I don’t need a bodyguard! I cahn take care of myself, you know.’ Over the period of a year Beakley tried to intergrate herself into his life, as she was meant to do, but Scrooge kept shooting her down and showing her up. (Think the scene with Beakley and Donald, but with Scrooge instead) The next year though Scrooge’s nephew and niece came to live with him for a bit. They were 6 (24 years between Beakley and Donald) and Scrooge assigned her to look over them.
Giving up on Scrooge for now, Beakley did what he asked, while also getting in touch with SHUSH to send a new agent to look after Scrooge. This new agent appeared about 3 months later and still accompanies Scrooge on adventures to date. His name? Launchpad McQuack. Scrooge is not aware that Launchpad is an agent.11. The above headcanon is why Beakley keeps reminding Scrooge ‘I am not your secretary!’ And why in ‘The Tunnel of the Terra-firmains’ when Beakley told Launchpad ‘You are not a mole-man’ he dropped it immediatly. In terms of SHUSH she is his boss.
