man, i remember when the flintstones comic was announced and everyone was so… turned off to it, i guess you could say, but its actually really good
I actually liked it. There are many reasons why:
- Fred Flintstone is a well-rounded character despite didn’t know how to react to the rapid technology.
- Each member of the family has it’s own arc including the appliances (Bowling Ball and Vacuum Cleaner)! One arc is Wilma finding joy in her art which lead to her finding a job in the film industry after her art being rejected by the Art Elite.
- Fred is an ally to the LGBT as he was partially raised by a gay couple in his tribe. Quite progressive in these prehistoric times.
- Issues such as marriage, PTSD, genocide, exploitation, and religion.
- Funny jokes (Fred, Barney and the men of Bedrock go to see a movie about “women revealing themselves”, turns out they’re going to see a bunch of sappy chick flick)
- Professor Sagan… I mean, Professor Sargon.
