Deadpool & Friends Present: Believe In Your Selfie Museum

To promote the release of Deadpool 2: Super Duper Cut on Blu-Ray & Digital, RUBIK worked with 20th Century Fox to create a free shareable selfie museum in New York City from August 8-11.

Before the pop-up opened, guests registered online through an Eventbrite page for 30 minute time blocks. Their tickets allowed them free entrance into the museum.

Upon entrance, guests were checked in at the registration desk by X-Force Ambassadors and given a museum brochure to tour the pop-up. The pop-up housed 8 builds themed around key characters and moments from the movie.

Baby Legs Couch

Baby Legs Couch invited guests to get a hilarious photo taken of themselves with baby legs. Guests got a kick out of seeing their adult bodies with realistic fabricated baby legs.

Cable Teddy Bear Room

Inspired by Cable’s dark contemporary of carrying a charred teddy bear, this room invited guests to immerse themselves into Cable’s dark austerior. The room featured an ombre of clean to charred teddy bears and a life size bear for guests to take photos with.

Rainbow Room

The Rainbow Room featured a light installation that spelled out Believe In Your Selfie and featured Deadpool’s iconic face. The room also displayed fabricated unicorns to tie in the colorful look of the room. 

Unicorn Room

The colorful Unicorn Room was inspired by Deadpool’s love for unicorns. The room featured a colorful backdrop and an array of unicorn props for guests to selfie with.

Domino Room

Lady Luck takeover! The Domino Room was inspired by Domino’s unwavering luck in everything she does. The room featured life sized dominos and a checkered backdrop. The room also featured a large Panda for guests to take photos with.

Colossus Room

The Colossus Room featured a silver color scheme inspired by the character. The idea behind the foam pit was to offer a hilarious take of creating a soft foam pit for a character who has a hard exterior. Guests had tons of fun jumping into the pit and taking boomerangs.

The Love Room

The Love Room was inspired by the undying love between Wade & Vanessa. One side of the room featured roses backlit with neon love signs and the other side featured a large neon sign with a butter knife and a display wall of roses and butter knives. Guests enjoyed taking photos with the rose display including a newlywed couple who captured their wedding photos at the museum.

X-Force Heaven

The X-Force Room was inspired by the hilarious yet tragic parachute scene from Deadpool 2. The room featured miniature characters suspended in the air with parachutes as well as a Don’t Jump rug. Guests had fun jumping in the air and replicating jumping out of an airplane.

Upon exiting the museum, guests received branded premiums like trucker hats, tiny hands gummies and a Deadpool balloon.

The pop-up museum garnered 3 million social media impressions with guests sharing their creative selfies with the hash tags #Deadpool2 and #believeinyourselfie.
