Sillies, that’s not a Victorian AU. That’s a Regency AU. The hair’s too long for Victorian.

I don’t know, I think someone could swing a creditable Bohemian/Pre-raphaelite/Oscar Wildean setting that would justify the hair, but honestly, it’s not like there’s one AU cookie left in the jar. Why not both?

Also, I’ve realized that I put all my Horatio Hornblower boys-in-love-on-ships feelings into the Troubadour Murdoch story and i’m scared that if someone so much as looks at me funny I’ll write an actual Age of Sail era AU.

I feel like only one of them can have that hair – like either Foggy is a good little lawyer and Matt is a swashbuckling Dread Pirate Roberts type, or Matt is trying so so hard to be upwardly mobile and Foggy is a bourgeois Bohemian who defends prostitutes and opium addicts.

On the other hand, if I ever finish that damn Stardust AU, this is exactly what they’ll look like.
