honestly the harry potter fandom is so wild like we’ve all collectively refused to accept cursed child as canon but some college kids tell us hufflepuffs are particularly good finders and we don’t even question it

I didn’t truly get the whole “death of the author” paradigm until I watched the harry potter fandom collectively divorce JKR

I get where you’re coming from, and, like, I don’t disagree… but Hufflepuffs being good finders didn’t originate in A Very Potter Musical. Rowling said it in an interview wayyyyyy back when (I think around 2007-2008?). She was trying to claim that the HP series didn’t grossly favor Gryffindor over all the other houses.

AVPM (performed 2009) was 100% full of nerds that would have been aware of this and included it in the play to make fun of Rowling’s nonsense.

What is gay privilege?

better sex

No accidental kids.

Date someone your size and double your wardrobe.

Being able to listen to really good music together because of automatic good taste.

Not being straight.

One person isn’t automatically expected to do 90% of the work because of gender roles.

Not having a social power imbalance where one partner is viewed as above another due to their sex.

Fullmetal Alchemist AU where everything’s the same except Ed makes up stupid stories as to why he lost his arm and leg and they’re different every time someone asks.

ex: “I got attacked by a shark”
“I stubbed my toe and decided I didn’t want it anymore”
“I went through a steampunk phase”
“Sheep are vicious when they’re hungry”
“Squirrels”

“y-you have an automail arm and leg… you–you must have committed the ult-”

“did you know horses are omnivorous? you’d think they just eat grass and weeds but that’s what they want you to think”
