When I was a little girl, I read Little Women. Back then, I always wanted Jo to be with Laurie (who the F doesn’t?).
But as I grew older, I understand why the author originally want to wrote Jo as a spinster after she rejected Nice Guy Laurie.
After seeing the 1994 film, the romantic side of me understands why Jo wants to be with Prof. Bhaer. I mean, who doesn’t want to have intellectual human being who can sneak you into the opera? That screams “cultured”, “risk-taking”, and “thrifty”.
